GuttaFlow bioseal, developed by COLTENE, is an advanced root canal filling material that does more than just seal and fill. When it comes into contact with moisture, this bioactive compound releases natural healing agents like calcium and silicates. It also triggers biological processes that help regenerate tissues inside the root canal.

What makes it unique is its ability to form hydroxylapatite crystals after setting, which not only improve how well it sticks to the canal walls but also encourage the healing of bone and dentin. This innovative effect benefits both experienced and beginner endodontists by offering a reliable, long-term solution.

Previously, only materials like MTA or bioglass had these healing properties, but they were difficult to work with and took a long time to set. In contrast, GuttaFlow bioseal combines the easy flow of gutta-percha with a sealer that works at room temperature—just like the earlier GuttaFlow 2 system.

GuttaFlow2 stands out for its strong adhesion, which helps prevent bacterial growth and leakage. Its thixotropic (flowable under pressure) nature lets it easily reach even the smallest spaces in the canal without needing complex techniques like condensation.

It's also very biocompatible, meaning it’s safe for surrounding tissues and has been proven through extensive clinical testing. GuttaFlow2 is easy to use, provided in a ready-to-go syringe, with no need for mixing machines. It offers a working time of 10–15 minutes and a setting time of 25–30 minutes, making root canal procedures more efficient and dependable.
